Proposal to Coach the Australian ILCA 4 Team at the World ChampionshipsWe are excited to extend to you the opportunity to serve as the coach(s) for the Australian ILCA 4 Team at the upcoming ILCA 4 World Championships in Los Angeles, USA. We are offering this service NOW so as to assure we can access high quality ribs to support the team appropriately.
This prestigious event is scheduled to take place from 19th July to 26th July, and will feature some of the most talented young sailors from around the globe.
The coaches proposed are Alp Alpagut and myself. Alp and I benefit from either knowing the sailors personally, or at the very least having observed their performance in the recent Australian Nationals.
We are committed to offering a service of the highest quality, delivering professional guidance and support to ensure the best possible performance. Our coaching approach is centred around fostering a positive team environment while emphasizing skill development, strategic planning, and strong communication throughout the championship. We want this to be a positive, memorable experience for all involved.
Support Summary:
1. Provide support for event preparation with an invitation to an NSW camps/regattas prior to the event with FREE charter boats for interstate sailors.
o Camp/Regatta dates Camp 1: 22, 23, 24, 25 May at Woollahra Sailing Club. The camp takes place on the 22/23rd May, with the regatta following immediatley. Camp 2: 26/27/28/29 June following the same format.
o Cost per “Worlds” sailor AUD$300.00 per camp – with a free ILCA charter boat for inter-staters. Noting that the regatta will be FREE entry for worlds sailors and subsidised entry for all ILCA 4 sailors.
2. Lead and coordinate pre-training sessions from 15th to 18th July prior to the event at the venue
3. Provide dedicated support to Australian sailors from 19th to 26th July during preparation & races
4. Coordinate efforts between two coaches to cover both female and male events, ensuring dedicated attention and tailored support for all Aus athletes.
5. Serve as the primary point of contact between the team and event organizer when required
6. Ensure the well-being and safety of all team members throughout the duration of the championship.
Financial summary:
Based on a party of FOURTEEN Australian sailors the cost per participant is US$2600.00. To secure this service we will need a booking deposit of AUD$1000 per team member - refunded if you place is NOT allocated, with the balance payable 1 June 2025.
